Curcumin, the main bioactive molecule of Karkuma Immune plus, is a strong antioxidant and has free radical scavenging properties. The unique chemical structure of this compound including its carbon-carbon bonds, B-diketo group, and phenyl rings with hydroxyl and methoxy substituents has been proven to attribute to its antioxidant activity. Studies have shown that curcumin could scavenge free radicals efficiently and protect cell membrane from oxidative damage by positioning itself within the cell membrane. Eugenol, the bioactive component of clove bud oil acts as an anti-inflammatory agent as well as protects the damage caused by oxidative stress.
